The Design Studio at Taggart Construction offers a full range of design services for new construction, additions, renovations, cabinetry, and millwork. Our architect will engage your full participation in an interactive, cooperative design process. We will listen closely and incorporate your comments to tailor the design to your specific needs. Whether your project is a traditional cottage on the water or a modern house in a historic district, we strive to design a solution that is a healthy fit for its context and climate. Our goal is an occupant healthy, energy efficient solution that meets your needs and embodies a respect for the individual character of your site.
The process begins on site where we’ll evaluate available views, access to sunlight, circulation paths for people and vehicles, and significant natural features. Through our discussions and your completion of a Design Questionnaire we’ll gain an understanding of the individual goals for your project.
 
With the site information and project goals defined we’ll begin concept sketches of possible solutions. These initial sketches are mere diagrams that allow us to quickly consider multiple options. We’ll meet to review these sketches and come up with a direction to move forward that may be one or a combination of the options reviewed.
  
This diagrammatic idea is developed in more detail; incorporating your comments and concerns along the way. We’ll meet to discuss the evolution of the design and work together to select equipment, fixtures, and finish materials. Depending on the demands of your project we may enlist consultants such as structural engineers, mechanical engineers, or landscape architects. Ultimately the diagrammatic idea will be developed into a complete set of drawings and specifications from which your project will be built.
  
We implement a variety of tools to develop and communicate design ideas effectively. With energy modeling software we have the capability to optimize energy performance and inform our decisions about materials and building systems. Be it computer models or freehand sketches we provide you the information you need to visualize the design and make decisions about your project.
